About ShortlistStack

A smaller shortlist, a clearer decision

ShortlistStack is an independent software-shortlisting publication based in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. We help solo online business owners and creators choose fewer, better tools for content creation, marketing, social media and audience growth. Our coverage includes AI tools where they serve a clear purpose in that work.

Instead of publishing huge software directories, we start with a specific job. We then recommend a small number of relevant tools and explain why each may fit. A useful recommendation also explains when a tool is unnecessary.

Editorial independence

Commercial relationships do not determine which products are selected or what we write about them. A product must earn its place through its relevance to the job and the reader, not a potential commission.

Recommendations are judgments about fit, not promises that one product is right for everyone. Meaningful drawbacks and alternatives belong alongside strengths.

Know what a recommendation is based on

We distinguish research-based assessment from hands-on experience. We do not describe a product as tested unless that testing actually happened and can be explained.

Read How We Review for the editorial standard and our Affiliate Disclosure for how commercial links are handled.
